Broomfield Academy Summer Camp will begin on Wednesday, June 3rd and will run through Wednesday, August 12th, 2009. The summer program provides a fun, safe and quality environment and promotes learning throughout the summer. The Broomfield Academy summer program includes a Jr. Kindergarten and pre-Kindergarten program for children ages 3-6 and a summer camp program for children ages 5-12, with a full offering of activities, learning and fun. Camp will be held Monday – Friday, from 7 AM to 6 PM, with the exception of July 3, 2009. Families can elect to attend from 1-5 days per week, for the entire summer or for just the weeks they desire.
The summer theme is "Broomfield Marketplace." Students will study and learn about the world of commerce and trade. They will learn what it takes to be a banker, a baker or a toy maker in a different time and place in history. The Broomfield Marketplace will have a bank, jewelry and art store, toy and souvenir store and a general store. The children will make items, sell, trade and buy. They will learn about the how the economy and the marketplace work hand in hand.
There will be arts & crafts projects, games, activities and lots of outdoor play and fun. There will be reading time, science, history, computer time, free play and recess each day. The summer camp program includes a wide range of special classes (e.g. art, drama, tumbling, soccer, basketball, cartooning, math challenge, science, gardening, reading, computers, chess, writing, Spanish culture, music, Capoeira). Two special classes are included, at no additional cost, for each student. Additional classes may be added for an additional fee. There will be fun and educational field trips as well.
